Pub crawling near you
There is nothing like relaxing and spending quality time with friends at the local pub. The following pubs will have you out of the house and partying it up in no time!
Gilroy’s Country Brewery
Where: Ngwenya Glass Village, off the R114 T-junction, Beyers Naudé Drive, Muldersdrift.
Their story: Located on the premises of Ngwenya Glass Village, Gilroy’s has been providing their award-winning, unique combination of brewery, beer garden, restaurant and function rooms for three years now. Prizes they have been awarded include Best Beer Southern Hemisphere, Best Restaurant for 2009 and 2010 from West Rand Tourism, Best Tourist Experience 2009 and 2010 from West Rand Tourism, Best Pub and Restaurant 2010 from the Krugersdorp Chamber of Commerce and second place in the World Best of British competition held by Telegraph News United Kingdom.

For functions, Gilroy’s can organise everything – bands, dancers etc. and both Gil and Rusty also play in the Gilroy Jazz Band. On Saturdays Gil performs the ‘Gilroy beer experience’ – it is a one and a half hours of drinking and learning about beer – all very liberally peppered with Gil’s Irish/Liverpool humour. So, if you’re looking for something different, relatively quiet with rustic elegance during the week or something a little boisterous over weekends, it’s got to be Gilroy’s.
The food: Create your own basket containing a variety of scrumptious, filling treats.
On tap: Real ales and a lager – brewed naturally for flavour and enjoyment by the brewmaster on site.
Specials: At Gilroy’s they have live music on the weekends, regular quiz evenings, and surprising talent in their Friday jazz nights.
