3 Ways to cheat your dinner party

3 Ways to cheat your dinner party

Hosting a dinner party can be stressful, especially if you have a large party coming round for dinner. Here, we give you three ways to impressive even the most dedicated foods …
  1. Cheeseboards

It’s not that difficult to whip up a posh cheeseboard, and it doesn’t have to be too pricey either. Pop to your local supermarket and buy a selection of cheese (own-brands are totally acceptable). Then present them on a wooden board with a few grapes, strawberries and some crackers and your guests will think you’ve spent a pretty penny at your local deli.

  1. Eton Mess

Don’t put yourself under too much pressure when it comes to dessert. Sure, everyone loves a chocolate fondant but unless you want to spend the whole evening in the kitchen, we’re giving you permission to go with something easier (and with a much lower disaster probability), the Eton Mess. Pop some (store-bought) mini meringues into a bowl with strawberry yoghurt, crème fraiche, and a few frozen berries and you’re ready to join the party again!

  1. Pre-set the Table

We all have an idea of just how we want our dinner table to look but often find ourselves flinging knives and forks onto the table five minutes before the guests are due to arrive. Cut it out the stress by taking the time to set the table the night before. This way, you’ll have time to pay attention to those decorative details!
