Celebrating women

On Women’s Day, we honour women in so many ways as their actions are like a stone tossed into the water, rippling out, reaching much farther than she will ever know.

To celebrate women, CopperStone hosted their 11th annual Women’s Day event at the scenic Leriba Hotel in Centurion in the form of a ‘Picnic in the Park’. The event highlighted how bullying affects our youth today and early prevention can avoid little bullies become big bullies later on in life. The ladies from CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation in South Africa and also the official charity of the SA Bachelor & Bachelorette competition) also attended and, on video, everyone shared the plight of cancer in our society today.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and ladies came dressed in their colourful attire, ready for a day of fun and entertainment. And top notch entertainment there was – from live performances by some of South Africa’s best performing artists like Lee Scott, Kyle Grant (Adam) and Veronique Lalouette to the oh-so-fabulous and sassy MC Marisa Drummond.

Ladies (and a few gents) also had the opportunity to meet the SA Bachelor & Bachelorette top 6 finalists of the year – Sharné Labotski, Wimari du Plessis, Kgadi Mokoni, Johan van der Merwe, Nicholas Joubert and Maloke Mogale. The cherry on the top was, of course, the performances of CopperStone’s Talent Search finalists – Andrea Schutzler, Jamie Nell, Jaco Prinsloo, Janey Nel and Abbot Sky.

Thanks to the many sponsors – the raffle draw provided awesome prizes.  Loads of bubbly, wine, delicious cream liqueur, decadent eats and treats, together with the long awaited performance by the sexy hunks from Pulse Dancers, made it a very memorable day!
