It is said that it takes just 30 days to establish a habit. We’ve got some great ideas for health changing habits that will make for a healthier, happier you.

You are what we eat

Eat nutrient-dense foods that nourish your body. Keep it natural

Think of your body as a plant … if you don’t water it, it will die. Stay hydrated. Drink water

Drink lemon water, or add 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar to your water in the morning to aid digestion and detoxification.

Spice it up! Increase your spice intake (e.g., cinnamon, turmeric) to speed up your metabolism.

Exercise Tips

Take the stairs.

Listen to music while you work out. Dance around in your kitchen if you must.

Treat your exercise time as an appointment – so that you don’t miss it!

Make mornings last longer by getting up before the sun rises.

Make your social time active. Go for coffee walks instead of coffee shop sit downs.

Digital detox

We’re surrounded by screens every single day, everywhere you go. No one is ever without their phone, whether it’s work emails or social media, it might be a good time to give your eyes and mind some rest.

The world as we know it has never been so filled with anxiety as it is now. Put your phone down! If not for the health benefits, a digital detox can reduce stress, a detox of at least 24 hours is a great time to test your technology addiction.

Time out  

When it comes to essential oils or aromatherapy candles choose a scent with calming and relaxing properties such as vanilla. “In our fragrance research we found that certain scents can do amazing things for our mind and body. From stress relief to headache relief, different aromas have a way of making us feel better, like vanilla, Studies have shown that vanillin, the active compound in vanilla is a very powerful anti-depressant. The smell of vanilla is known to directly impact the brain, thus inducing calmness.

So run that bath, dim the lights and give yourself a little timeout.
