Welcome summer with an extraordinary rosé
The weather’s warm, the sun is shining and we’ve taken entertaining outdoors. Think rolling lawns and shady trees and a glass of chilly rosé. This month’s treat is the lovely Jean Roi Cap Provincial Rosé 2017. Palest blush, with scents of peach blossom and honeydew melon, it’s a mouthful of bright, juicy melon, peach and nectarine, with just a touch of lemon zest. It’s jolly pleasing on its own, but just wonderful paired with summery dishes like a nectarine Caprese salad; grilled prawns and crayfish, or tuna ceviche. As expected from a premium wine, this is a limited release, so don’t dilly-dally in ordering from the Anthonij Rupert Wyne online store. If you’re lucky, you may find it in a few select specialist wine stores. A remarkable wine, well worth the price tag of R299.95. Details: rupertwines.com.
